Appointment of Dr Bhushan Kumar Sinha as a Whole-Time Member of the IBBI

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, through its notification dated 12th February 2025, has appointed Dr. Bhushan Kumar Sinha, Former Senior Economic Advisor, Department of Financial Services, as a Whole-Time Member of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI).

This appointment is made under the powers conferred by Section 189 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (IBC, 2016). Dr. Sinha assumes charge from 11th February 2025 (forenoon) and will serve for a term of five years or until he attains the age of sixty-five years or until further orders, whichever is earliest.

This appointment is expected to enhance regulatory oversight and policy formulation within the insolvency ecosystem, leveraging Dr. Sinha's extensive experience in financial services and economic advisory.
